this site has been empty for more than a few years. I had some ideas what about I wanted to write, but never had time for it right. Now I want to populate it first with what I need to be organized in one place. I will assume that if I need some data when I start or am in the process of creating a project, some of you will also find that data useful.
One of the first things I will write about, and add drawings and pictures about will be fasteners. There are so many types of screws and bolts and standards defining them. It is easy enough to find the dimensions of the head of a particular screw or bolt you want to insert into your project, but it can get much more complicated if you need thread specification to be able to model the screw. So, I’ll try to cover the most popular ones in detail.
After that, I will probably add some of the projects the site was initially intended for.
Then I will be adding some other tables and calculators I find useful. Some of them might be equivalent resistance calculators for a resistor network, a mechanical load and deflection calculator could also be an interesting addition (I often need) if I find a mechanical engineer willing to help out, a cable ampacity table, …
